Individual books include:
Antonyms, Level 2 teaches how to choose and use opposites in activities that connect past knowledge to new learning. Students learn to find true antonyms, match parts of speech, build antonyms by adding word parts, and exchange word opposites in stories and in games.
Synonyms, Level 2 teaches that synonyms mean the same thing with shades of differences. Students learn how to recognise a true synonym and how the slight differences in meaning influence usage.
Associations, Level 2 teaches how to recognise associations between words and that organising vocabularies via word associations means easier storage and word retrieval. Students master association skills through category association, adding category members, association by function, homonyms, words and topics, exclusion, and making associations activities.
Multiple-Meaning Words teaches how words can have more than one meaning and how they differ in part of speech. Students increase vocabulary flexibility through matching, sentence completion, games, stories, writing sentences, and defining activities.
Roots, Prefixes and Suffixes teach that words are made up of smaller parts that have meaning and impact the total word. Students will understand the function of the root word, the prefix and suffix; identify the root, and use the parts to make words.
Word Origins teaches eight ways words come into the English vocabulary: word origination, compound words, blended words, acronyms, clipped words, eponyms, slang, cultural and regional vocabulary.
